LayerMechanic — Panel Hardware Mount Maker (Blender add-on)
A downloadable tool
What it does
LayerMechanic — Panel Hardware Mount Maker turns a panel cutout into a mechanical mounting plan covering the opening, panel thickness, rear body, locknut access and cable service space.
What it checks
Preflight checks whether the installation fits. The opening may clear while the body behind it hits a PCB; those checks are reported separately. Rescan measures the scene again after you move a component. Only the front opening is cut; remaining geometry helps with planning.
Workflow
Enter every dimension and verify it against the manufacturer's drawing. Run preflight, move components as needed, then rescan.
Limits
There is no parts catalog. V1 supports planar faces; curved faces and unapplied scale are refused. This is mechanical clearance planning, not an electrical, sealing, IP, UL, IEC or strength certificate.
