LayerMechanic — EmbedFlow (Blender add-on)

What it does

Plan embedded hardware before printing. Register magnets, nuts, NFC tags and other embedded hardware, group them into physical insertion events, and export a printer-side checklist.

What it checks

Checks protrusion and cover risks. Same-height hardware becomes one insertion event. The resume-plane guard reports PASS, REVIEW or FAIL. Includes N/S/A/B polarity planning with manual override, and gap-cap retention that re-plans its event. Moving hardware triggers live re-analysis.

Workflow

Register hardware, review the analysis, then export Markdown or JSON plans with checklists. Verify every pause in your slicer before printing.

Limits

+Z print direction only. Layer hints are approximate and must be verified in your slicer. No G-code editing, printer control or automatic pauses. Circular caps and bridge estimates.
